Many older homes throughout South Florida are still in great structural shape but contain outdated kitchens that don’t fit homeowners’ lifestyles. Here is a kitchen remodel project in Port St. Lucie, Florida completed by Alliance Group general contractors. This 1980’s style kitchen needed a facelift with new cabinetry, granite counter tops, sink and plumbing, and new decorative lighting. Take a look at the kitchen before the project began.
After removing all the kitchen cabinets and old wallpaper, the Alliance Group interiors crew got to work installing all the new updates. The new cabinetry was installed following the same footprint with the exception of the spacious tall utility cabinets in place of the worn bread box cabinets. A functional wine rack base cabinet was added to replace the underused mini desk area.
Floral backsplash tiles were replaced by contemporary stone tiles in alternating sizes and depths. A bar top was installed on the backside of the peninsula. To accomplish this safely, we installed bracket supports to bear the weight of the new granite countertop at the bar and added decorative track lighting to illuminate the area. Previously, this kitchen did not have a place for a microwave, so a new one was installed above the range. A modern under mount, single bowl sink with pull-down faucet was installed to make the clean up zone more ergonomic.
